The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region is part of the regional aid zoning scheme (AFR zoning). This means that public aid is available to businesses that decide to set up in the region and create jobs. The authorised ceiling for the cumulative total of public aid for a large company is set at 10% of the amount invested in setting up the business. Outside the AFR zone, the ceiling is automatically set at €200,000 in total over a rolling three-year period. Setting up a business within an AFR zone therefore offers a clear advantage in terms of funding. Proportionally, the higher the investments eligible for funding, the greater the amount of financial support will be.
