With its 45 municipalities and 80,000 inhabitants, the urban community serves a catchment area of over 400,000 people within a 60 km radius, as well as 40,000 students.

With a firm focus on the future, Châlons Agglo aims to become a carbon-neutral region. Among its key initiatives are the protection of its natural resources – with a 30,000-hectare catchment area for water collection fields – and the development of a 100 % carbon-free district heating network (CLOE).
