Genopole offers a very pleasant working environment, surrounded by landscaped areas, with an inter-company restaurant and a facility (L’escale) where fitness classes are held at lunchtimes and in the evenings. A crèche and a student studio block are located in the immediate vicinity of Genopole.

The Genopole platform offers a wide range of high-quality training courses and expert advice: 

Genopole organises seminars and workshops on a range of topics, from business strategy to the specifics of a particular technology or an introduction to cutting-edge equipment. The Genopole platform also organises networking events, in partnership with stakeholders from the biocluster and experts, focusing on a scientific theme of interest to the Genopole community. 

The platform also organises a summer school. “Bioinformatics and Biostatistical Tools in Medical Genomics” is an international course aimed at researchers, engineers and PhD students wishing to develop or deepen their skills in computational genomics. Workshops, round-table discussions and lectures are led by international experts. The course takes place over three to four days on a campus on the banks of the Seine.

Genopole runs the Shaker programme, ‘from idea to start-up’:

• Shaker: this programme offers an opportunity to innovators in the field of biotechnology ( health, environment, agrotech/foodtech, bioindustry). Successful applicants will have the chance to continue their work using the available facilities and benefit from training to raise awareness of entrepreneurship.

Evry-Val-d’Essonne metropolitan ultra-high-speed broadband network :

REVE connects 14 scientific sites across the conurbation and extends to the Evry-Corbeil biocluster. The network enables the deployment of the technologies required to build a transdisciplinary virtual campus.

Technical specifications:

• Metropolitan ultra-high-speed broadband network (10 Gbps).
• Option to connect to ultra-high-speed ‘long-distance’ (Internet) networks via the Renater consortium and a private operator, with users able to select their exit operator with a high degree of flexibility.
• Support for multicast (IP multicast).
• Traffic accounting and prioritisation functions.
• Support for Internet protocols, IPv4 and IPv6.
