Inspira – A sustainable, multimodal industrial business park

The INSPIRA multimodal industrial business park is situated in the municipalities of Salaise-sur-Sanne and Sablons, between Lyon, Valence and Saint-Étienne, near Vienne and Grenoble in the Isère department.

The Industrial and Port Zone is situated on a major European economic corridor for multimodal transport (river, rail and road) and close to major regional cities (Lyon, Valence, Saint-Étienne, Grenoble).

The INSPIRA multimodal industrial business park is a sustainable, multimodal industrial site covering 340 hectares, currently providing 900 jobs in the chemical and construction sectors. It is set to accommodate 2,000 jobs over the next 20 years.

Its area of 330 hectares – 100 of which have been granted by the State to the Compagnie Nationale du Rhône – makes it one of the largest industrial sites in Isère. 170 hectares remain to be developed, offering significant potential for growth.

It boasts a thriving industrial environment, as the Industrial and Port Zone already comprises 110 hectares occupied by established businesses, representing 900 jobs. It is situated in the immediate vicinity of the Roussillon-les-Roches Chemical Hub, which accounts for 1,400 jobs.

As the only port in Isère and one of the leading ports in the Rhône region, the INSPIRA multimodal industrial business park is also an Industrial and Port Zone that aims to capitalise on its rail, river and road transport links.

Set within the Rhône Valley, the Industrial and Port Zone aims to incorporate the many strengths and constraints of its natural and landscape environment, notably its proximity to the Île de la Platière nature reserve and the Pilat Regional Nature Park.

This environment represents a resource that the Industrial and Port Zone must preserve and manage as it develops.
