Genopole: an ecosystem designed for innovative entrepreneurs
Genopole is dedicated to promoting the growth of innovative SMEs and startups. This is the ideal ecosystem that invest-HUB is unveiling as a prelude to the webinar organised for Tuesday 23rd November in collaboration with Genopole and aimed at entrepreneurs looking for the ideal framework to boost their development and make their project a reality.
Launched in 1998, Genopole is both a biocluster and a biopark dedicated to biotechnology. The EU|BIC certification - awarded by the European Commission's European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN) - testifies to the biocluster's international role in the fields of R&D and innovation. “This is recognition of our work and the value of our real estate, technological, scientific and entrepreneurial services to promote the launch and development of innovative companies," explains Laurent Pépin, Director of Genopole's Business Development and Partnership Department.
However, Genopole does not intend to stop there and is continuing its efforts to attract innovative entrepreneurs who want the best conditions to pursue and accelerate their development. "Joining Genopole means taking advantage of cutting-edge technologies that are not normally accessible to innovative start-ups and SMEs. With our 26 shared platforms and our technical platforms, we not only offer state-of-the-art equipment such as electron microscopes, mass spectrometers, DNA sequencers, etc., but also help to promote synergies between companies and laboratories, particularly with regard to the effectiveness of technology transfers," explains Laurent Pépin.
A range of real estate adapted to all needs
Another of Genopole's great strengths is its ability to meet all the real estate needs of the facilities it hosts. "Our real estate offer covers nearly 115,000 m² and includes spaces ranging from ready to use offices to co-working spaces, clean rooms, laboratories, scientific and technical premises, etc. For the youngest companies, our incubator also offers offices, laboratories and shared facilities for biotechnology research," explains Laurent Pépin. This richness and diversity also applies to the space available, with L1 and L2 laboratories - equipped with furniture - ranging in size from 30 to 130 m², or offices and equipped premises from 10 to 200 m², all connected to Genopole's very high-speed network and offering a range of modern services and equipment (overhead projectors, whiteboards, cafeterias, access control, security, facility management, etc.) It should also be noted that the biocluster has land reserves and real estate offers for the development of large-scale real estate projects.
An internationally oriented environment
As a member of several key European networks (European Cluster Collaboration Platform, EIT Health, Council of European BioRegions, etc.), Genopole is a prime partner for supporting entrepreneurs in their development and internationalisation strategy, as well as developing partnerships and cooperation around the world. "In order to increase our partners' international visibility, we represent them at numerous events and initiate collaborations with many international investors and industrial groups," adds Laurent Pépin.
A dynamic working environment and a remarkable quality of life
Genopole has sought to facilitate exceptional working conditions by offering a number of facilities to entrepreneurs on the site. The Babilou crèche, located at the very heart of the biocluster, and its wide range of hours, makes life considerably easier for young parents who, like other Genopolitans, can also take advantage of a rich and varied range of accommodation at prices that are much more competitive than in the capital. Finally, joining Genopole also means taking advantage of the French way of life. In addition to numerous shops and restaurants, the site offers privileged access to magnificent forests, parks and gardens, as well as numerous sports facilities: tennis, golf courses, swimming pools, etc. And that's not counting its proximity to Paris, the city of light, and its unique heritage. So, when are you coming?
