Port Sud de France is launching a call for tenders for the management of its 23,000m² under-temperature controlled terminal - dedicated to fruit and vegetable logistics. 2nd French port in the French Mediterranean, the Sète under-temperature terminal is the ideal tool for handling the flow of fresh produce from African and Mediterranean countries.

Terminal in Sète 

A platform for distribution, weighing, sorting and labelling of fresh products in South of France. The terminal can handle both pallets and reefer containers from any sourcing and meets the latest efficiency and quality criteria for the handling of perishable and dry goods.

 

Location of the terminal

Positioned at the centre of the main distribution markets. Sète is the 2nd French port in the French Mediterranean and so the Sète under-temperature terminal is the ideal tool for handling the flow of fresh produce from African and Mediterranean countries.
Its ideal location, close to the A9 highway, enables it to supply the main markets of national interest in the south of France and Rungis.

 

Equipped premises

  • The 23,000 m² terminal has 2 large transit halls with a capacity of 9,765 m² to the south and 7,180 m² to the north, as well as a central hall of 5,928 m² with 10 racked cold rooms, 9 1 of which is at -25° .
  • 33 loading doors in total with 27 loading doors for reefers to the south and north, this terminal is versatile with the capacity to handle both conventional pallets and reefer containers.
  • To optimize handling times, the port offers a wide range of modern and reliable tools, including a Eurocrane overpanamax gantry crane and 3 mobile cranes equipped with spreaders. There is also a border inspection point within the port. 
  • Thanks to the upcoming delivery of a new rail platform, the port will be able to offer weekly connections to northern destinations such as Paris, Calais and Bettembourg
