Situated in the Port of Marseille Fos, this industrial platform works to create mutualisation and collaboration among manufacturers, in a logic of industrial ecology. How does this work? The manufacturers generate a great deal of energy (steam, electricity) that can be reused. The zone thus accommodates international manufacturers needing these energy sources for their business’ effective operation, and they in turn bring value to the area and competition for the preestablished companies.
Several hectares of industrial ground for sale in this zone in the south of France
Almost 600-hectares of land is available in the zone. The whole site is equipped with the different networks and services necessary for both the platform’s and the present companies’ smooth operation: 1,700 linear metres of quayside space; draughts up to 18m; 200,000 to 400,000 volts of electricity; 80 to 1,000mm diameter gas pipe; and an industrial waterpipe, diameter 300 to 800mm. A steam network is underway, in order to enhance and diversify the energy sources. The zone is classified high-threshold SEVESO.
