Innovation Grants in Andorra: Driving Force for Your R&D Projects
Andorra Business supports the establishment of high-value-added companies in Andorra whose projects contribute to the country’s economic diversification. The programme is designed for innovative investment projects that leverage new technologies, highly qualified talent, and approaches that represent a clear advance, novelty, or innovation compared with existing knowledge and market practices.
For the 2026 edition, the total available budget is €1,000,000.
Which companies are eligible?
The programme is open to companies and entrepreneurs established outside Andorra that wish to develop a new strategic, high-value-added investment project in the country. Eligible projects must contribute to Andorra’s economic diversification and involve either an innovative activity or technological innovation. Applicants must also be up to date with their tax obligations in their country of origin, must not be subject to bankruptcy or insolvency proceedings, and must comply with all requirements set out in the programme’s regulatory rules.
Priority sectors
Priority is given to projects operating in the following strategic or hyper-specialised sectors:
- Health and well-being
- Biotechnology
- Sport
- Audiovisual
- Digital entertainment
- Digital technologies
- Sustainable construction
Which expenses are eligible for funding?
The grant may cover expenses directly linked to the project, particularly those associated with research, development and innovation (R&D) activities.
Eligible costs may include:
- Labour costs: Technical, scientific, and research staff assigned to the project.
- Machinery and equipment: Production tools, laboratory equipment, and technologies needed to develop new solutions.
- Intangible assets: Software, patents, licences, and other intellectual-property-related assets required for the project.
- Consumable materials: Materials and supplies used during the R&D phase.
- Infrastructure: Dedicated premises, facilities, or spaces for innovative activities.
- Other project-related costs: Expenses that are demonstrably necessary for the implementation of the project.
All expenses must be properly documented, included in the submitted budget, and clearly linked to the project’s objectives.
What is the amount of the grant?
The grant amount is determined by the Board of Directors of Andorra Business based on the merits and scope of the project submitted.
The full available budget may be awarded to a single company. If the final cost of the project is lower than the amount initially budgeted, the grant will be reduced proportionally.
