Regional aid zones in Vaucluse

Regional aid zones (zone AFR or ZAFR in French) are the result of the European Union’s desire to involve public powers more in the economic development of areas in difficulty. Regional aid zones offer companies the possibility of benefitting from subsidies for productive investments or for the creation of jobs linked to these investments.

The support given by the state or by regional authorities to businesses who set up in a regional aid zone can cover:

  • Costs of investments in land, equipment, premises or intangible assets (eg patents)
  • Salary costs for jobs created over a period of 2 years

In the areas in question, public authorities will be able to grant aid to companies making investments and creating jobs, in compliance with maximum aid rates which are higher for SMEs and in the overseas territories.

All companies that are subject to a real tax regime and that are intended to make a profit are eligible.

Companies can benefit from this scheme as long as they carry out profitable operations making them liable for corporation tax and their activity meets the conditions for benefiting from the scheme.
